Our Goal
The goal of the African American Chamber of Commerce of San Joaquin (AACCofSJ) is rooted in the belief that a prosperous African American community fosters a safe nurturing environment to raise our children, own homes, businesses and contribute to the overall well-being of Stockton/San Joaquin County. As an alliance of Black/African American businesses owners, we are committed in advancing the economic agenda of the African American community.

Tony Washington the Director of the Essence Of Soul International Film Festival, lived in the surburan community of Temecula, CA. While living in Temecula Tony went to school for film production at Cal State San Bernardino, while in school Tony got into film production on several independent films. Tony also produced wedding videos and produced commercials for business in the Southern California areas. Tony was a background actor in films such as Training Day with Denzel Washington Ali with Wil Smith, AI Directed by Steven Spielberg to name a few films. Tony later became involved in the Temecula Film and Music Festival, working with the festival for 8 years.

Now living in Stockton for the past 7 years Tony teamed up with the Stockton African American Chamber of Commerce of San Joaquin County and bringing the Essence Of Soul International Film Festival to Stockton.

The Stockton African American Chamber is dedicated to helping members of the Chamber become thriving business owners, by doing this, they utilize a variety of mechanisms including training, web- based tools, peer networking, coaching and information sharing of products. The African American Chamber helps put businesses in a position to be able to properly cater to the African American Community which these businesses serve.
